::SCHOLARSHIP FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES::

• October 2008 – A T-shirt Booth
  • A silent auction (with items donated from the community) and dance were sponsored at the San Simon School Halloween Carnival.
     
• February 2009 - First Annual Julio J. Gonzalez Memorial Ride
  • The ride was held in Chandler, Arizona. 30+ motorcyclists and supporters rode from Churchill’s Pub & Grill to Globe/Miami, Arizona, on SR 88 past Roosevelt Dam to the Beeline Highway and back to Churchill’s. A celebration was held following the ride at Churchill’s, whose management generously opened their doors and gave discounts to attendees. The Helmet Center of Phoenix donated a helmet that was raffled during the event.
     
• March 2009 – First Annual Hawkstock
  • Hawkstock was held on Julio’s birthday in San Simon, Arizona. A barbeque was held at the Gonzalez residence and a dance followed at the Lewis residence with music provided by Rick Gonzalez, Lee Gonzales and Jerry Jaramillo.
     
• September 2009 – Softball Tournament
  • This tournament was held at San Simon School. Six teams from San Simon, Bowie and the surrounding communities entered and refreshments were sold. A 50/50 raffle was also held during the tournament.
